  how is it God's fault that the whole earth has become corrupted?

  I was referring specifically to evidence which contradicts the idea that the earth was created in six literal days. It is too overwhelming for humanity to ignore.

  you know how when people come out of being a jw they say things like- but the bible is a good book- its just the religion that is bad.

  or when describing muslim extremists commit some atrocity, people say- the religion is bad- but the koran is a good book.

  or when you observe orthodox jews abusing members of their family- it is said- its the religion that is confining and doent allow leaders to be held accoutable- but the torah is a good book.. i think we have it backwards!!

  I absolutely agree with the OP. The extremists, or those who subscribe to a more literal interpretation, are far more honest about their respective gods. Most people tend to gloss over the less palatable parts to reconcile it with their own personal ideas of what they want god to be. In other words, they don't tailor their beliefs to fit whatever book they believe in, but, rather, they interpret these books to fit their beliefs. And if something doesn't harmonize, then it should be ignored, or not taken literally, or placed in some sort of historical context.

  if God came down and told some of you he created the world in six literal days you would still not believe him

  I certainly would. But then I would ask him why he would allow the earth to become corrupted with so much evidence to the contrary. After all, he does want everyone to believe, right? Is he incompetent, or just an asshole?

  brother and sister bishop had to be the most annoying witnesses in our congregation.

  sister bishop was a shrill overweight busybody who had nothing else better to do than spread rumors about both people and inanimate objects.

  on the other hand, brother bishop was a rail thin cuckold of a man nearly 20 years younger than his wife.

  I've watched the episode. Troy's religion has been brought up a couple of times before, but only at Christmas. It's never dealt with any other time. It's obvious the writers haven't researched the religion too thoroughly. They use it merely as a plot device.

  i don't think there are more pedophiles in the religion than there are in others.. i understand that one is too many.

  but i think some believe that it's an epidemic within the organization.

  i believe their 2 witness rule can help pedophiles secretly abuse kids.. but i don't think that this particular crime dominates those in the religion.. .

  the love practiced by those in the kingdom hall, how can we describe it?

  there are so many (yeah, there are quite a few who have intense hatred and not love.

  ) witnesses who hate each other, families who call down evil on each other, they wish their mother, father, brothers and sisters, aunts, uncles, grandkids, nephews, nieces were dead.

  my personal perception of my own would be that religion is an organized agreement.

  to a set of lies, cultivated upon human ignorance, fear and superstitions, structured.

  on a framework of power and control.

  I think the majority of religions, even JWs, are started with the best of intentions. But these intentions are always undermined by human corruption, combined with foundations that are flawed in their reasoning.

  the six screens of the watchtower has crossed the threshold of 1 million uploaded views on youtube.

  how encouraging it is that what we set out to do is working..... helping active jehovah's witnesses find out what the watchtower organization is hiding behind.. youtube is a major thorn in the watchtowers side.
